The blog of Dennis and Karen Baker. Originally from Los Angeles we moved to New Jersey. Why you ask? We are still figuring that out.
Sorry it has been a while since we posted. We are now 7 months pregnant, the time is just flying by. It is hard to believe I am starting my 3rd trimester, before we know it there will be a baby here. I got a chance to fly home to California for my friend Kari's wedding. The wedding was great, and while I was there I was able to have a baby shower with family and friends. The experience was awesome. It was so great to see everyone and catch up. We are so lucky to have such great family and friends, our baby girl is set with everything she could want, before she has even arrived. I also loved the warm weather, hanging out by the pool in March was wonderful. Here are a few pictures of the trip, and me getting bigger and bigger. See more on our Flickr site.
So we are five months along. We went to see the doctor last week and could not find out the gender as Baby Baker was not turned in the correct position. We will check again in a couple of weeks.

In November our construction crew arrived and we began the great remodel. My parents (Karen) flew in from Cali and my aunt Debby came in from Missouri to help. We had a great time demolishing and re-building both of our bathrooms. My father is amazing, and can do anything as seen in the pictures. It was hard work and I think we went to Lowes about 100 times but in the end it looked awesome. We did manage in some fun time as well. We introduced my Aunt to New York city and all the fun that goes with it. A huge thanks to my parents and Aunt Debby, we could never have done it without them. It being Thanksgiving I finally have time to upload all the pictures we have been taking. Below are the individual links, they are all on Flickr. Even though life is rocky for the Bakers right now, we have much to be thankful about and it can be seen in all the pictures. We love and miss you all!
The Dodgers were in town and we wanted to catch as many games as possible. They played in Philly and then New York. We drove down with Jordan and his dad for an afternoon game. I found field level tickets online, and they were about ten rows back. As you can see we got some amazing pictures. It was great to see the players up close!
We saw two games when the Dodgers played the Mets. The first was Friday night with Maria-Itzel, Sasha, and Sasha's family. Gordon, Sasha's father, graciously took us to a Yankees/Mets game earlier in the summer as he is a huge Yankees fan. I thought it only appropriate that I introduce him to my favorite team. Maria-Itzel is from LA and had never been to see the Dodgers. By the end of the night she was hooked!
We decided to buy new appliances over the Labor day holiday. We knew we would have to do so before we sold the house and wanted to enjoy them a bit before we do so. Karen did not want to pay the extra money to have the microwave installed, thinking we could do it ourselves. As you can see we had to call in reinforcements as we did not have the proper tools or man power.
We hosted a baby shower for the family of one of the students in our class. This is their second child, a girl, that they named Sophia. She was born a couple of weeks ago.
The MFA II actors and directors hosted a welcome breakfast for the MFA I actors and director. It was a great time as LOTS of food.
An east coast fall tradition is to go apple picking. We drove to Princeton in the morning for breakfast at BJ's Pancake House and then just went south to the apple picking farm.
Karen's mom came to visit for the weekend after doing some work in Washington DC. They were able to see the show I was in and continued their traditions of doing some fix-ups around the house. If you look closely you can see Karen's new east coast look. Her dad was jealous and decided to come visit two weekends later. They had a great time going to Philly and to the Statue of Liberty.
Wow so much has gone on since we last posted. Our good friends Jon and Carissa came to "beautiful" New Jersey to visit in August. We had lots of fun driving all over the state. We went down the shore to Atlantic City (A.C. as the locals call it) on the most humid day all year. We also spent some time in New York (The City). The highlight of the trip was just hanging out and eating lots of good food. Check out the fun pictures on flickr. I love to take lots of pics of Jon you never know what expression he will make.
