It's A Girl!

Sorry it has been a while since we posted. We are now 7 months pregnant, the time is just flying by. It is hard to believe I am starting my 3rd trimester, before we know it there will be a baby here. I got a chance to fly home to California for my friend Kari's wedding. The wedding was great, and while I was there I was able to have a baby shower with family and friends. The experience was awesome. It was so great to see everyone and catch up. We are so lucky to have such great family and friends, our baby girl is set with everything she could want, before she has even arrived. I also loved the warm weather, hanging out by the pool in March was wonderful. Here are a few pictures of the trip, and me getting bigger and bigger. See more on our Flickr site.

Dennis is doing well. As always he is busy working, going to school and acting. He just finished a show with NYU called The Giver by Lois Lowry. He was awesome in it and he made a lot of new friends. He will be done with school soon so he is just trying to finish the semester strong, and plan for the summer and fatherhood.

That is really all that is new for now, we are just waiting and growing.

Pregnancy Photos

So we are five months along. We went to see the doctor last week and could not find out the gender as Baby Baker was not turned in the correct position. We will check again in a couple of weeks.

Remodel

In November our construction crew arrived and we began the great remodel. My parents (Karen) flew in from Cali and my aunt Debby came in from Missouri to help. We had a great time demolishing and re-building both of our bathrooms. My father is amazing, and can do anything as seen in the pictures. It was hard work and I think we went to Lowes about 100 times but in the end it looked awesome. We did manage in some fun time as well. We introduced my Aunt to New York city and all the fun that goes with it. A huge thanks to my parents and Aunt Debby, we could never have done it without them. Click on the flicker link to see all the bathroom fun.

One week later my sister and her husband Jacques flew in from Cali to visit. We had a blast, I took them to every tourist stop in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. We went all over New York city, from ground zero to central park. Then it was off to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis island. The next day it was the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia, and Valley Forge battle grounds. I think I might have wore them out, but I am sure they got the full east coast experience. It was great to have them here, I was sad to see them go.

Christmas was here in no time. I had the honor of working Christmas eve and Christmas day, what fun that was, while Dennis was home recovering from a busy semester of school. On the 29th we got to fly home to Cali and really celebrate Christmas. It was awesome to see all of our family, and friends. We went all over Cali to get the opportunity to see everyone.

While visiting everyone we got to spread the news that we are now 4 months pregnant! Now that the first trimester, and all of the fun that came with that, is over we are really celebrating. We are due June 29th, and I feel like I am getting bigger by the minute. Next month we will hopefully find out the sex, and spread the word to everyone. We will keep you posted.

Wow it has been a long time!!!!!!!!

We have not posted in a long time, so here are some of the updates. Dennis has been working for LexisNexis as a search engine marketer, and he just completed his first semester at New York University. He is getting his masters in educational theatre at NYU and he will be done in May of 08. He is loving the program as there are great teachers and he has even made some friends. The only bad thing is the two hour commute by train to work, and then class at night. As for me nothing is really new, I am still working as always. I am now really focused on my new goal which is moving home to California!!!!!! We of course need to sell our house, and Dennis needs to finish school, but the end is in sight and I can't wait. We began by remodeling our kitchen, and this fall we plan on remodeling the bathrooms. I can't wait, that means of course our construction foreman/contractor/plumber/do all contractors will be coming for a visit. That is just code for my parents are visiting, when they leave the place will look better than ever.

Life has not been all that bad here in NJ, we have gotten the chance to take a few fun trips. In the spring we went to Portland, OR to visit our friends Jon, Carissa, and Micah. We had lots of fun and who knew Oregon was so beautiful. Also we were able to celebrate our 6th anniversary in Ontario, Canada. We went to Niagara falls, and then Niagara on the Lake which is a beautiful town just down the road from the falls. Canada was a lot of fun, ehhhh! You can view all the fun pics on our flicker account just to the right of the screen or click any of these images. Today we are on our way to Philadelphia to see our Dodgers play (I hope they win).

Summer and Fall '07 Pics

It being Thanksgiving I finally have time to upload all the pictures we have been taking. Below are the individual links, they are all on Flickr. Even though life is rocky for the Bakers right now, we have much to be thankful about and it can be seen in all the pictures. We love and miss you all!

Summer '07

Dodgers vs. Phillies

The Dodgers were in town and we wanted to catch as many games as possible. They played in Philly and then New York. We drove down with Jordan and his dad for an afternoon game. I found field level tickets online, and they were about ten rows back. As you can see we got some amazing pictures. It was great to see the players up close!

Dodgers vs. Mets

We saw two games when the Dodgers played the Mets. The first was Friday night with Maria-Itzel, Sasha, and Sasha's family. Gordon, Sasha's father, graciously took us to a Yankees/Mets game earlier in the summer as he is a huge Yankees fan. I thought it only appropriate that I introduce him to my favorite team. Maria-Itzel is from LA and had never been to see the Dodgers. By the end of the night she was hooked!

The second game was Sunday night with Jordan, Mandy and Jordan's father. It is always good to see a Dodger game with a true blue fan like Jordan. It was the first game with David Wells pitching and we had a great birds eye view.

Fall '07

New Appliances

We decided to buy new appliances over the Labor day holiday. We knew we would have to do so before we sold the house and wanted to enjoy them a bit before we do so. Karen did not want to pay the extra money to have the microwave installed, thinking we could do it ourselves. As you can see we had to call in reinforcements as we did not have the proper tools or man power.

Call Family Baby Shower

We hosted a baby shower for the family of one of the students in our class. This is their second child, a girl, that they named Sophia. She was born a couple of weeks ago.

MFA I & MFA II Breakfast

The MFA II actors and directors hosted a welcome breakfast for the MFA I actors and director. It was a great time as LOTS of food.

Apple Picking

An east coast fall tradition is to go apple picking. We drove to Princeton in the morning for breakfast at BJ's Pancake House and then just went south to the apple picking farm.

Karen's Parents Visit

Karen's mom came to visit for the weekend after doing some work in Washington DC. They were able to see the show I was in and continued their traditions of doing some fix-ups around the house. If you look closely you can see Karen's new east coast look. Her dad was jealous and decided to come visit two weekends later. They had a great time going to Philly and to the Statue of Liberty.

August, September, October, Nov.......

Wow so much has gone on since we last posted. Our good friends Jon and Carissa came to "beautiful" New Jersey to visit in August. We had lots of fun driving all over the state. We went down the shore to Atlantic City (A.C. as the locals call it) on the most humid day all year. We also spent some time in New York (The City). The highlight of the trip was just hanging out and eating lots of good food. Check out the fun pictures on flickr. I love to take lots of pics of Jon you never know what expression he will make.

September marked the end of the summer for Dennis and also the end of free time and fun. Before we knew it he was in the full swing of things. We took all that free time over the summer for granted. Then came October and now November time has flown by. Dennis is currently in "The Diary of Anne Frank" at school. The play has been keeping him really busy. We just finished a visit with my mom where we spent our time shopping and doing all sorts of home improvement projects. I love it when she comes, she lets me take her to all the places I have been wanting to see, and then she talks me in to laying tile (the pics will be up soon).

The big news is that school is not going well for Dennis. We are hoping for the best at his final evaluation in December however, we are preparing for the worst. Dennis is the hardest worker I know when it comes to his craft but for now that does not seem to be enough. We will keep you posted about that.

We are looking forward to next weekend when my dad is coming to visit for the first time. I can't wait to show him our place and see what projects I can talk him into, after all he can do anything. Also we are going to see Cyrano with Kevin Kline and Jennifer Garner in the city in 2 weeks. I really want to see it because it has Jenn Garner in it and I loved Alias. Don't tell Dennis he thinks I just love the play.
